Chuck Bennett
Sr. Vice President, Real Estate Transactions for NFH and Secretary/Treasurer for SALT
California Land Title of Marin - Retired
Chuck is the longest serving member of the Northbay Family Homes Board of Directors, joining in 1999 and continuing to serve today. He is also the longest serving Chairman of the NFH Board, holding that title for five years. Additionally, Chuck joined the Suburban Alternatives Land Trust Board in 2001 and continues today on the SALT Board of Directors.
Chuck has long been a resident of Novato, beginning when his father was designated Provost Marshall (“the military Sheriff”) at Hamilton Air Force Base when Chuck was just 10 years old.
Chuck has been in the homebuilding industry for over 39 years. He was an Escrow and Title Officer with California Land Title of Marin since1970 and held the statewide office of President and CEO of the California Land Title Association (of which Cal Land Title of Marin was a member). Significantly, Chuck and Cal Land Title were individually instrumental in the transfer of title for each and every parcel of land at Hamilton Air Force Base from the federal government to each public or private local owner, homebuilder and agency. After the transfer to local ownership, he and Cal Land employees transferred title of each home to each home-buying family.
In 2002, the City of Novato named Chuck Bennett “Citizen of the Year.” He is well known to many as a man who gets involved in almost everything important in his hometown of Novato and his county of Marin. As President and CEO of California Land Title of Marin, Chuck was able to have almost every employee of Cal Land involved in something they felt was important and something they liked doing.
The Marin Builders Association awarded Chuck their “Construction Industry Person of the Year” in 2006. He is a past President of the Novato Chamber of Commerce, and has been a member of Marin Association of Realtors Government Relations Committee.
Chuck actively participates in so many aspects of the community where he has lived and worked. His personal and company attitude paired with his high level of involvement have contributed to making Marin County and the community of Novato very special places in which to live, work, play, and belong.
